How to Maintain Your Bowling Equipment: Care and Tips for Longevity
Share
Your bowling ball and gear are your most important tools, so keeping them in top condition is essential for both performance and longevity. Here are some tips on how to properly maintain your bowling equipment.
1. Cleaning Your Bowling Ball
- After every game: Wipe your ball with a microfiber towel to remove oil and debris.
- Deep cleaning: Use a ball cleaner specifically designed for bowling balls to remove built-up oil and dirt. For deep cleaning, soak the ball in water (only if the manufacturer allows it) or use a special cleaning machine.
2. Resurfacing Your Ball
- Over time, the surface of the ball can get worn out. You may need to get it resurfaced to restore its grip and performance. Professional shops can sand or polish your ball, depending on the surface you prefer.
3. Bowling Shoes Care
- Keep your bowling shoes clean by wiping them with a damp cloth after every session. Make sure to keep the soles dry and free of dirt to maintain proper slide and grip.
4. Finger and Thumb Inserts
- If you use inserts in your ball, make sure they are positioned correctly and cleaned regularly to prevent any discomfort or slippage.
